Urges customers to contribute via ‘Mekeni Bayanihan Packs’ purchases

Mekeni Food Corporation, one of the leading food processing companies in Central Luzon, has forged a partnership with Caritas Manila and pledged food donations until year-end through its program Mekeni Bayanihan Packs.

Under the Mekeni Bayanihan Packs program, Mekeni will donate food packs to Caritas Manila every month starting July this year until December 2020. These food packs will be given to Filipino families who are affected by the coronavirus 2019 pandemic; and are unable to make a living and put food on their table.

“In these trying times, we have to play our part in immediately helping our fellow Filipinos who have been severely affected by the pandemic. We hope that through this program, together with our consumers, we can lessen the Filipinos who suffer from hunger at this difficult time,” said Mekeni President Prudencio S. Garcia.

Mekeni is enjoining its consumers to participate in the Mekeni Bayanihan Packs program by allowing them to donate a food pack worth 70 pesos when they order products via Mekeni Home2Home delivery on Facebook or Viber. The food pack comes with assorted Mekeni products such as hotdog and longanisa; and rice.

All the food packs that Mekeni will be able to gather through the donations made by their customers will be sent to the beneficiary families of Caritas Manila. “With their help, our customers do not only bring food on their table, but they also help feed other families, one Bayanihan Pack at a time,” said Garcia.

Aside from Mekeni Bayanihan Packs, Mekeni also extended help to medical and non-medical front liners through donating various food products.

Bayanihan has been ingrained in Mekeni’s DNA. This is why in everything we do, we always strive to uplift the lives of our communities. We hope that through this initiative, we will be able to encourage fellow Filipinos to keep the bayanihan spirit alive and make a difference in the lives of others, especially now that we are in a difficult situation brought by the health crisis,” Garcia concluded.
