CIMB Bank Philippines clinches #41 ranking in The Asian Banker’s World’s Top 100 Digital Banks

CIMB Bank Philippines secured the 41st spot in the World’s Top 100 Digital Banks 2025 ranking by The Asian Banker, making it the Best Digital Bank in the Philippines.

2024 was truly a stellar year for CIMB Bank PH as it achieved a profit before tax rate 45 times higher than 2023, as transactions grew over 30% compared to the previous year despite a challenging competitive landscape environment across all banks.Deposit transactions grew by over 35% from 2024, demonstrating the trust and confidence of our customers in keeping and growing their funds with CIMB. Now at over 9 million customers strong, not only did the Bank’s customer base reach new record levels, but loan customers also grew to close to 4 million.

The prestigious award-giving body, The Asian Banker, is the leading provider of strategic intelligence and community platforms in the financial services industry. Encompassing over 160 leading players from 42 markets, The Asian Banker used a scorecard to identify the Global Top 100 Digital Banks, evaluating the capabilities of each bank across five key dimensions: customers, market/product coverage, profitability, asset and deposit growth, and funding. Scale and size aren’t the primary determinants; instead, they’re weighed against factors like profitability, operational efficiencies, the ability to secure funding, and the manner in which these digital banks maintain a robust loan book and balance sheet.

In the Philippines, CIMB Bank PH ranked highest among all banks that made it to the list according to the criteria above. According to The Asian Banker, the solid business performance, product offerings, customer growth and solid financial performance contributed to CIMB being selected as the Best Digital Bank in the PH while also making into the top 50 best digital banks globally.
