Okada Manila team members are also encouraged to wear blue in support of the campaign. “Mental health awareness becomes more meaningful when people feel they can speak openly, seek support, and look after one another,” said Atty. Jerome Sarte, Senior Vice President – Human Resources of Okada Manila. “At Okada Manila, care for wellbeing is an important part of how we support our team members. Through Light Up Blue and our other initiatives this Mental Health Month, we hope to help make mental wellbeing a more visible and everyday conversation.”

The initiatives form part of Okada Green Heart, Okada Manila’s sustainability and social impact platform, under Safety, Security and Welfare: Caring for people and the planet, which supports efforts that promote the safety, health, and wellbeing of its people.

Light Up Blue is supported by a broader lineup of mental health and wellbeing activities for Okada Manila team members throughout October. The initiatives began on October 1 with OkadaGLOW: Mind – Advocacy Session, which promoted awareness and conversations around mental health. From October 19 to 21, Okada Manila will conduct an Onsite Psychological Consultation in partnership with Bofill Psychological Services (BPSi) Clinic, providing team members with another avenue for mental health support.

On October 21, Okada Manila will hold Wellness Wednesday: Yoga Session, followed by Paint Your Peace: Mental Health Through Colors on October 23, providing additional opportunities for team members to support their wellbeing through mindfulness, movement, and self-expression.

Through Light Up Blue and its continuing mental health initiatives, Okada Manila seeks to foster a workplace where wellbeing is supported, conversations about mental health are encouraged, and team members feel more comfortable seeking support when they need it.
