For the second year in a row, AIA Philippines has been recognized among Asia’s Best Companies to Work for, taking home four honors at the HR Asia Awards 2025. The recognition underscores the company’s commitment to employee experience, diversity and inclusion, digital empowerment, and sustainable workplace practices.

“These awards celebrate the culture our people and leaders help build every day,” said Melita Teo, President and CEO, AIA Philippines. “They reflect the dedication, creativity, and passion of our employees, and the environment we strive to foster—one where people feel empowered, connected, and inspired to make a meaningful impact. By championing a winning culture rooted in excellence and collaboration, we’re reinforcing what makes AIA Philippines a rewarding, competitive and future-ready organization.”
Championing workplace excellence
The Best Companies to Work for in Asia Award highlights AIA Philippines’ approach to employee experience across its almost 4,000-strong workforce. It affirms the company’s commitment to creating a workplace defined by inclusivity, growth opportunities, and employee well-being.
With 66% women and 34% men spanning four generations, and 19% of employees with over 10 years of tenure, the company has cultivated a workplace that is inclusive, supportive, and motivating. The company supports career growth through programs such as New Hire Onboarding and the Buddy System for early-career support, Learning Labs for continuous development, the Business Leader Program for future leaders, and targeted interventions like the LEAD Series and Assessment Center that prepare employees for bigger roles.
The company also fosters a listening culture through initiatives like new hire roundtables, “Coffee and Conversations” with executives, and regular engagement surveys, ensuring employee voices shape the workplace experience.
Leading in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
The HR Asia Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award recognized AIA Philippines’ strong focus on equity and belonging. Programs such as SHEConnects, which amplifies women’s voices and promotes gender equality; PrideConnects, which champions LGBTQ+ inclusion and allyship; and AIA Communities, which fosters cultural awareness and celebrates diversity, have created safe spaces where employees feel valued and heard.
“Diversity is central to how we work and make decisions,” shared Ellen Imasa, Chief Human Resources Officer, AIA Philippines. “We’ve built spaces where employees can bring their authentic selves to work. When people feel truly seen and valued, it transforms collaboration, innovation, and connection with the communities we serve.”
Driving innovation and sustainability
The HR Asia Tech Empowerment Award was given to AIA Philippines for its AIA Flex platform, a one-stop digital solution that simplifies benefits management and employee recognition across teams. The platform not only improves operational efficiency but also allows employees to engage meaningfully and feel acknowledged for their contributions.
In 2024, the company introduced Ways of Working, simple and relatable principles guiding collaboration, decision-making, and engagement across all business units. These principles are reinforced through the WOW Awards, which celebrate employee contributions.
Alongside its recognition for digital empowerment, AIA Philippines was also honored for championing sustainability and social responsibility in the workplace. The HR Asia Sustainable Workplace Award recognized the company’s SustainAbility program, which includes conservation talks, coastal cleanups, meal packing events, school feeding programs, and community gardens.
Recently, a meal-packing event with Rise Against Hunger sparked a ripple effect across the organization. Employees from different departments began organizing their own community feeding programs, eventually establishing regular support for local schools.
All these achievements build on AIA Philippines’ other recognitions this year, such as Great Place to Work® and Best Place to Work certifications, and Insurance Asia Award for employee engagement.
“As we look to the future, our priority remains supporting our people to grow, thrive, and bring their best selves to work,” Imasa concluded. “These awards inspire us to keep raising the bar by investing in leadership, harnessing digital innovation, and driving inclusive and sustainable practices that create meaningful impact for our people and the communities we serve.”
