In celebration of World Earth Day 2025, the Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD) led by PAWD President Salvador M. Royeca, in partnership with the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) and with the support of LWUA Chairman Ronnie L. Ong, invites everyone to join the “Taralets para sa Tubig!” Nature Walk and Fun Run on April 27, 2025 at the La Mesa Ecopark, Quezon City.
Raising awareness for water security and conservation, the event brings together not just government agencies and NGOs but the private sector and the general public as well in a community activity. Participants can choose from three categories—1.5K nature walk, 3K run, and 5K trail run—open to all ages and fitness levels.
To ensure a fun and safe community walk and run, WeKenRun will oversee race management and logistics. Founded by Coach Ken Mendola, a USA Track & Field Level 1 Certified Coach, WeKenRun has become a trusted name in the running community, offering custom coaching programs, training plans, and community runs, catering to athletes at all levels. Their involvement guarantees that “Taralets para sa Tubig!” will be more than just a race—it will be a safe, meaningful, and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
The initiative affirms the shared mission of PAWD and LWUA to promote environmental sustainability and achieve water security for generations to come. Held at La Mesa Ecopark—Metro Manila’s primary watershed and a symbol of ecological protection—the event underlines the vital role that natural ecosystems play in securing the nation’s water future. “This Earth Day, let’s create ripples of action that flow forward for a water-secure nation,” said PAWD President Salvador M. Royeca, emphasizing the importance of united efforts in protecting the country’s water sources. Meanwhile, LWUA Chairman Ronnie L. Ong also expressed his support, saying, “This event reflects our collective commitment to sustainability and to building a future where every Filipino has access to safe, clean, and reliable water. We invite everyone to walk, run, and act with purpose.” More than just a nature walk or a fun run, “Taralets para sa Tubig!” is a symbol of solidarity and action, reminding us that every step we take today can lead to a more sustainable tomorrow.
Be part of this meaningful Earth Day celebration that unites communities, advocates, and changemakers in the mission to protect our most precious resource—water.
