The Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), the country’s premier alliance of housing developers, will hold its 34th SHDA National Developers Convention on September 16 to 17, 2026, at the Marquis Events Place in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. Gathering its members alongside national policymakers, regulatory partners, financial institutions, shelter-sector stakeholders, and key thought leaders, the convention serves as a strategic platform to tackle policy bottlenecks, financing mechanisms, and solutions shaping the future of Philippine shelter.
Anchored on the theme, “Elevate: Sustaining Progress through Collaboration and Strategic Housing Innovations,” the two-day summit will explore key areas across low- and mid-market housing development. High on the agenda is the review of the Housing Roadmap co-developed by the University of Asia and the Pacific research team, led by former president Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog, with SHDA and other housing organizations. Joy~Nostalg Group Raemulan Lands Founder and Group Executive Officer Jacinto C. Ng, Jr., will share the group’s pioneering initiatives in renewable energy and how communities are transformed through the power of synergy. Philippine Survey Research Center Executive Director Cristina Reyes will bring insight into shifting homebuyer preferences and the expectations of the next generation of homeowners.
The convention features a lineup of government resource speakers delivering insights relevant to developers. Key presentations include legislative directions from current member and former chairperson of the Senate Committee on Urban Planning, Housing, and Resettlement, Sen. JV Ejercito; economic priorities and housing-sector alignment from Department of Economy, Planning, and Development Social Development Staff Director, Girlie Grace Casimiro-Igtiben; tax updates from Bureau of Internal Revenue Deputy Commissioner Atty. Larry Barcelo; and inter-agency efforts to streamline government processes from Anti-Red Tape Authority Deputy Director General Dr. Lea Grace Salcedo. Pag-IBIG Fund Business Development Head Fermin Sta. Teresa, Jr. will highlight partnerships and offerings to support developers.
Adding to the discussions on key areas of housing development, the Department of Agrarian Reform will join the convention, with Adjudication Board Member III Asec. Atty. Rolando S. Cua discussing the regulatory processes and legal framework related to housing development, including land conversion and clearance. Also participating is the National Water Resources Board Executive Director Dr. Sevillo David, Jr., who will discuss regulations on private-sector access to water resources. The program will also present discussions led by private-sector representatives on electricity, solid waste management, and telecommunications services, covering infrastructure considerations in housing development.

SHDA Chairman Engr. Francis Richmond Z. Day two shifts the focus to market intelligence and community architecture, building on day one’s discussion by Philippine Institute of Development Studies Vice President Dr. Marife Ballesteros on evolving market demand, which leads into sessions on shifting demographic trends and next-generation buyer behavior. The program will also include creative insights from GIGIL Founding Partner Badong Abesamis, strategic design thinking from Plus 63 and Hydra Design Group Co-Founder and President Dan Matutina, and perspectives on urban design and environmental planning from PGAA Creative Design Principal and Founder Archt. Paulo Alcazaren.
A key output of the convention is the adoption of Convention Resolutions, formal recommendations consolidating insights and positions from the two-day discussions that will serve as a guide for both government and private-sector stakeholders in shaping policy and program directions to address the housing industry’s challenges.
